You may decide to conduct a sale as an auction instead of a general sale. In some cases, you may run a general sale and then convert to an auction on the last day in order to liquidate the entire contents of a sale. This can be done by enabling auction mode under the sale profile and then selecting "New Lot" instead of "New Ticket" when viewing the point of sale.
